Derek Martinez is a through and through Austinite, born and raised right here in Austin. Derek graduated from Stoney Point High School where he enjoyed participating on the football and baseball teams. After High School he hit the books at college and then worked as a computer teacher with elementary aged children, giving them their first exposure to the IT world and cyber security on their level. He has worked at the Texas legislature for 5 years and 4 of those years working as an IT Consultant assisting House and State Representatives to effectively understand how to navigate their daily programs. From there Derek went to work for the Internal Revenue Service. Derek is a hard worker, always curious to see how things work together in order to help people complete tasks they would not be able to do otherwise. Now Derek is taking all those skills and applying it to real estate here at Realty Texas. He is very detail oriented, especially with the numbers and his main goal is to build relationships with his clients, providing them with the utmost professionalism, knowledge, and support during their buying, leasing or selling experiences.
